The Department of Highway has allocated a budget of 70 million baht for road improvements at Koh Klang sub-district in Krabi’s Lanta Island.
The project, expected to be completed in 2008, aims at supporting local tourism growth. The chief of local administration there Sripao Rujipatcharakul explains that the road work is divided into three parts with the first one, costing 23.5 million, baht already finished.
The second and third parts are under the Department of Highway’s surveys. The new road will give convenient access to major tourist attractions such as view points and the island’s eco-tourism sites. The whole project is expected to be completed by 2008 and contribute to tourism growth.
